Aiyedatiwa Enhances Grassroots Governance in Ondo State

On Tuesday, Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State reaffirmed his administration's commitment to strengthening grassroots governance through capacity building and professionalism among local government personnel. This was highlighted during the graduation ceremony of 178 local government officers who completed an eight-week in-service training program at the Local Government Staff Training School in Itaogbolu, Akure North Local Government Area.

The Special Adviser on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Mr. Igbekele Akinrinwa, stated that the training aimed to develop a more efficient local government service. The officers, promoted from Grade Level 14 to Grade Level 15, were urged to demonstrate discipline and accountability in their duties.

The training covered various topics, including leadership and skills acquisition. The pioneer Permanent Secretary of the training school, Prince Ayodeji Ayeku, and the Permanent Secretary of the Local Government Service Commission, Dr. Bayo Ilawole, emphasized the importance of the newly acquired skills for effective public service delivery.

The Ogbolu of Itaogbolu, Oba Idowu Faborode, also praised the governor's investment in capacity building.
