Yusuf Urges Nigerian Youths to Build Their Futures Now

Rahman Adekunle Yusuf, the Special Assistant to the Ondo State Governor on Digital Media, called on Nigerian youths to stop waiting for external opportunities and instead take proactive steps to build their futures. This statement was made during a review of Christopher Olusa’s book, "No More Future: Why Waiting Is Over—and What to Build Instead." Yusuf highlighted that the culture of waiting among young Nigerians has become a significant challenge, with many postponing action in hopes of better economic conditions or government interventions.

He emphasized that the future should be seen as something to construct deliberately through skills, discipline, and purposeful action. Yusuf acknowledged the various challenges facing young Nigerians, including unemployment and economic hardship, but insisted that these should not serve as excuses for inaction.

He stressed the importance of building systems around oneself and taking responsibility for personal actions. The book also discusses leadership as accepting responsibility for problems and working towards solutions, rather than waiting for formal authorization.
