Ajayi to Compete in Silesia Diamond League 100m Event

Kayinsola Ajayi is set to compete in the men’s 100m at the Kamila Skolimowska Memorial in Silesia, Poland, on Sunday. This event is part of the Diamond League series and follows the Athletissima in Lausanne.

Ajayi will face a competitive field, including world champion Oblique Seville and Olympic champion Andre De Grasse, among others. The 21-year-old sprinter has established himself as a leading young talent, having broken the Nigerian 100m record with a time of 9.84 seconds in May at the 2026 NCAA Division I East First Round in the United States.

He also won the NCAA outdoor 100m title and equaled his national record twice, securing two Diamond League victories this season. Ajayi recently won a bronze medal in the men’s 100m at the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.

He announced his decision to forgo his final year of collegiate eligibility at Auburn University to begin his professional career with Adidas, having signed a Name, Image and Likeness deal with the company in April 2025.
