Nigerian Sprinter Kayinsola Ajayi Eyes Commonwealth Gold

Kayinsola Ajayi, a 21-year-old Nigerian sprint sensation, is targeting gold at the 2026 Commonwealth Games following his impressive victory in the men's 100 meters at the London Diamond League on Saturday. Ajayi clocked a remarkable time of 9.84 seconds, defeating reigning world champion Oblique Seville from Jamaica, who finished second with a time of 9.87 seconds.

Great Britain's Romel Glave secured third place with a personal best of 9.97 seconds. This victory marks a significant milestone in Ajayi's career, as he executed his race plan perfectly, showcasing his explosive start against a world-class field.

His winning time equals his season's best, reinforcing his status as one of the fastest men in the world this year. Ajayi, a two-time NCAA collegiate champion, is now looking forward to the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, which begin on July 23.
