Akpabio Thanks Tinubu for New University in Akwa Ibom

On Friday, Dr. Godswill Akpabio, the President of the Senate, expressed gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for approving the Bill that establishes the Federal University of Agriculture and Technology in Obio Akpa, Oruk Anam Local Government Area, Akwa Ibom State. This announcement was made during the funeral service for Late Hon. (Elder) Imo Akpan Ibokette, former Majority Leader of the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly.

Dr. Akpabio stated his anticipation for the admission of the first batch of students into the new university. He also thanked Governor Umo Eno for facilitating the use of a campus of the Akwa Ibom State University for the university's commencement of academic activities.

Dr. Akpabio reflected on his personal loss regarding the late Ibokette, who had expressed his appreciation upon hearing about the university's establishment. The funeral service took place at the Abak International Nursery/Primary School and was conducted by the Apostolic Church Nigeria.
