Akpabio Commends Tinubu for New University in Akwa Ibom

On Friday, Godswill Akpabio, the President of the Senate, expressed gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for approving the Bill that establishes the Federal University of Agriculture and Technology in Obio Akpa, Oruk Anam Local Government Area, Akwa Ibom State. Akpabio also acknowledged Governor Umo Eno for promptly releasing the Obio Akpa campus of the Akwa Ibom State University to ensure the university's smooth commencement.

He made these remarks during the funeral service for the late Hon. (Elder) Imo Akpan Ibokette, former Majority Leader of the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly. Akpabio looked forward to the admission of the first batch of students into the new university and noted that Ibokette was among the first to congratulate him on the bill's passage.

He described Ibokette as a patriot and a selfless leader, mourning his loss deeply. The funeral service took place at the Abak International Nursery/Primary School, conducted by the Apostolic Church Nigeria.
