Akpabio Commends Tinubu for New University in Akwa Ibom

On Friday, Godswill Akpabio, the President of the Senate, expressed gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for approving the Bill that establishes the Federal University of Agriculture and Technology in Obio Akpa, Oruk Anam Local Government Area, Akwa Ibom State. Akpabio also acknowledged Governor Umo Eno for promptly releasing the Obio Akpa campus of the Akwa Ibom State University to ensure the smooth commencement of the new institution.

This commendation occurred during the funeral service for the late Hon. (Elder) Imo Akpan Ibokette, former Majority Leader of the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly. Akpabio mentioned his anticipation for the first batch of students to be admitted to the university and reflected on his personal loss regarding Ibokette's passing, highlighting their long-standing relationship despite political differences.

The funeral service was held at the Abak International Nursery/Primary School and conducted by the Apostolic Church Nigeria.
