SERAP Threatens Legal Action Over ₦200 Trillion NNPCL Loss

The Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP) has announced plans for legal action against Senate President Godswill Akpabio, demanding the disclosure of names involved in an alleged ₦200 trillion loss at the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL). SERAP is urging the Senate's Public Accounts Committee to publicly identify officials linked to these financial discrepancies.

They emphasize the need for transparency and accountability, warning that failure to act could undermine public trust and allow political interference. SERAP has requested the release of key documents, including audit reports and financial statements, to facilitate an independent examination of the claims.

They have given the Senate a seven-day deadline to respond to their demands, threatening legal action if no response is received. SERAP has expressed concerns over delays in the investigation, which they believe could distort evidence and weaken public confidence in the process.
