Akpeyi Supports Nwabali's Super Eagles Recall Efforts

Daniel Akpeyi, a goalkeeper for Kaizer Chiefs, has expressed support for Stanley Nwabali's return to the Super Eagles. Akpeyi stated that Nwabali's absence from the national team was primarily due to his lack of regular club football.

Nwabali, who was Nigeria's first-choice goalkeeper during the 2024 Africa Cup of Nations, recently left Chippa United by mutual consent in February. Akpeyi emphasized that Nwabali's proven qualities would favor his return to form, which is essential for regaining the trust of the national team coach.

He noted that Nwabali's decision to return to Chippa United would provide him with the opportunity to rediscover his form and potentially secure a recall to the national team. The South African Premier League season is set to begin on August 1, and Akpeyi believes that Nwabali will establish himself at Chippa United ahead of Nigeria's 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualification campaign starting in September.
