Regina Akume Wins APC Ticket in Benue Primaries

In the recent All Progressives Congress (APC) primaries held in Benue State, Regina Akume, wife of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume, won the ticket for the Gboko/Tarka Federal Constituency. The results were announced on Sunday by Alhaji Sabiu Mahuta, the chairman of the primary election committee.

Other successful candidates included Solomon Wombo and Livinu Tsar for the Vandeikya/Konshisha ticket, Terfa Ikper for the Makurdi/Guma Federal Constituency, and Gideon Inyom for the Buruku Federal Constituency. The primaries took place on Saturday, with various candidates emerging victorious across the state.

The process was marked by support from the state governor, Hyacinth Alia, who had previously emphasized the importance of fair primaries. Despite some candidates losing, the overall results reflect a competitive election environment within the party.
