ABPR Commends Tinubu, Pate for FUTATH Crisis Resolution

The Akure Businessmen and Professionals Roundtable (ABPR) praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Prof. Muhammad Ali Pate, for their roles in resolving the labor crisis at the Federal University Teaching Hospital (FUTATH). This commendation followed the suspension of an industrial action by organized labor at the university, which had caused significant hardships for patients and students.

ABPR acknowledged Prof. Pate's interventions and his commitment to the Federal Government's Renewed Hope agenda, particularly regarding the teaching hospital project promised to Akure patriarch Dr. Reuben Fasoranti. The group expressed solidarity with Ondo State health workers seeking absorption into FUTA Teaching Hospital and noted that the Federal Ministry of Health is taking steps to expand the hospital's staff.

ABPR criticized the Ondo State Government's inadequate response to the crisis, which led to prolonged hospital closures, adversely affecting low-income families reliant on public healthcare.
