NaijAidUK Enhances Emergency Preparedness in Nigeria

NaijAidUK, operating in Nigeria as HealthAid Charity, is expanding emergency preparedness through first-aid training and medical equipment donations. Since its establishment in 2015, the charity has trained over 3,000 healthcare professionals and 5,000 non-medical citizens.

Recently, they conducted intermediate life support training for over 70 healthcare practitioners from Lagos and Ogun states and a first aid train-the-trainer program for more than 100 university students and first responders. Dr. Lanre Nehan-Babalola, Chief Executive Officer/Founding Trustee, stated that the train-the-trainer model creates a multiplier effect, allowing trained individuals to teach others.

In May 2025, the charity fully funded first aid training for 70 students at Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, delivered by Project Alert’s team. This initiative aims to empower young people to become first responders in their communities.

Nehan-Babalola's motivation stemmed from witnessing the challenges faced by healthcare professionals in Nigeria, particularly the lack of equipment.
