Akure North LG Disburses N100m to Empower 1,000 Residents

The Akure North Local Government Council of Ondo State has allocated N100 million to support 1,000 youths and market women through its empowerment program. Each beneficiary received N100,000 to enhance their businesses and livelihoods.

Hon. Johnson Ogunbolude, the chairman of the council, stated that this initiative demonstrates his administration’s commitment to economic empowerment as part of grassroots development. The beneficiaries were chosen based on their potential to utilize the funds effectively.

Ogunbolude emphasized the importance of local government initiatives that address economic challenges beyond basic infrastructure. He also noted that this program complements the poverty-reduction efforts of the Ondo State Government under Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa.

Ogunbolude assured that this is the first batch of beneficiaries and that the program would continue to reach more residents. He encouraged beneficiaries to use the funds responsibly as seed capital for their businesses.

The event was attended by various dignitaries, including Hon. Akindele Adeniyi.
