Ondo Community Connect Launches BTO CARES for Residents

The Ondo Community Connect (OCC) launched the BTO CARES initiative in Akure, Ondo State, aimed at providing direct support to vulnerable residents, particularly students and artisans. The launch occurred on a Thursday, with Mrs. Iretidola Akinrowo Ojekhoa serving as the Coordinator.
The initiative was facilitated by the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, who has previously supported infrastructure projects in various communities. Ojekhoa emphasized that while infrastructure is crucial, it does not address all challenges faced by residents.
BTO CARES is designed to focus on people, offering support through five pillars: emergency succour, education support, artisanship and skills, business development, and protection of vulnerable individuals. Beneficiaries can receive assistance with medical bills, school fees, and access to tools for artisans.
The program adopts a no-cash-at-centre policy to ensure accountability, with payments made directly to schools and service providers.
