Akwa Ibom Governor dismissed two political aides, Joseph Jacob Ikpak and Felix Ekuri, for attending the PDP convention in Ibadan, reflecting internal political rifts. The move is part of a restructuring exercise to realign the government machinery.

Tensions have risen within the administration over loyalty issues, with some appointees sympathetic to the PDP. The governor's displeasure with the aides' participation led to their removal, highlighting divisions between APC and PDP loyalists.

Former commission member Ini Ememobong also resigned, choosing to follow the APC.
