Akwa Ibom Police Arrest 63 Suspects, Rescue 22 Trafficking Victims

The Akwa Ibom State Police Command has made significant progress in crime fighting, with 63 suspects arrested for various offenses, 19 firearms recovered, and 22 human trafficking victims rescued from August 1 to September 3, 2025. Commissioner of Police Baba Mohammed Azare highlighted the achievements, including the neutralization of a notorious kidnapper, rescue of Ghanaian and Nigerian trafficking victims, and arrests related to armed robbery and car theft syndicates.

The police also foiled a kidnap attempt, arrested a cultist group, and apprehended members of the Ku Klux Klan confraternity. These actions demonstrate the commitment of the police to combat crime and ensure the safety of residents in Akwa Ibom State.
