Akwa Ibom Police Rescue 20 Trafficked Ghanaians in Uyo, Arrest Suspected Trafficker

Akwa Ibom State Police Command rescued 20 trafficked Ghanaians in Uyo, with 10 males and 10 females saved from a compound in Obio Etoi village. The victims appeared disoriented, possibly hypnotized.

The police arrested a suspected human trafficker, Alex Omosivie, from Edo State during a sting operation. Omosivie admitted to trafficking two individuals to African countries recently.

The joint operation involved the Ghana Police Service and INTERPOL. The rescued Ghanaians are currently in custody, and investigations are ongoing.
