Police Arrest Trafficker and Cultists in Akwa Ibom Crackdown

The Akwa Ibom State Police Command made significant arrests in their crackdown on crime, capturing a notorious human trafficker and suspected cultists involved in assault and ritual activities. During separate operations across the state, the police arrested Alex Omosivie, a 47-year-old from Edo State, for trafficking young women for illicit activities.

Two victims were rescued during the operation, with investigations revealing Omosivie's previous trafficking activities to Libya and Burkina Faso. Additionally, seven suspected members of the proscribed Ku Klux Klans Confraternity were apprehended for their involvement in assaulting a student at Akwa Ibom State Polytechnic.

The police recovered items like firearms, ammunition, and ritual substances from the suspects' hideouts.
