Police Rescue 20 Ghanaians From Human Trafficking Den in Akwa Ibom

The Akwa Ibom State Police Command recently rescued 20 Ghanaians from a suspected human trafficking den in Uyo. The victims, consisting of 10 men and 10 women, were found in a compound in Obio Etoro village following a raid conducted by the police.

DSP Timfon John, the Command Public Relations Officer, confirmed the rescue operation, which was carried out on Monday, August 18, based on credible intelligence and a formal request for assistance from the Ghana Police Service and Interpol. The victims, whose identities were withheld, appeared disoriented and unable to provide useful information, leading to suspicions that they may have been hypnotized.

The police are currently investigating the incident, with a promise to provide updates as soon as possible.
