Nigerian Police Rescue Trafficked Ghanaian in Cross-Border Operation, Arrest Five

Nigerian police rescued a trafficked Ghanaian victim in Ogun State and arrested five suspects in a cross-border operation. The operation, led by officers from INTERPOL Annexe FCID Alagbon Lagos, followed a request for assistance from Ghana's National Central Bureau.

The victim, lured to Nigeria in July 2025, was promised help to travel to Canada but was defrauded and forced into fraudulent online trading. The principal suspect, Hassana Abban, a Ghanaian woman, was apprehended along with four accomplices.

The police, commended for their professionalism, reaffirmed their commitment to regional cooperation in combating human trafficking.
