Akwa Ibom Rep Intervenes In Poor Health Of Constituents

Hon. Okpolupm Etteh, a House of Representatives member from Akwa Ibom State, has intervened in the poor health situation of his constituents, particularly women and children. Through a constituency project intervention scheme, a free comprehensive medical and ophthalmological outreach was launched to provide relief to those affected by various ailments.

The outreach covered four local government areas in the federal constituency, offering medical consultations, surgical procedures, and dispensing reading glasses. The initiative, which began at Cottage Hospital Upenekang in Ibeno LGA and concluded at Immanuel General Hospital in Eket LGA, successfully treated thousands of indigent patients who could not afford medical care.

The outreach included a wide range of critical surgeries such as myomectomy, herniorrhaphy, and appendectomy, bringing hope and healing to the community.
