Akwa Ibom to Launch Projects for 39th Anniversary

Akwa Ibom State is set to celebrate its 39th anniversary with a series of project unveilings under the ARISE Agenda 1.0, scheduled for commissioning between September 1 and 30, 2026. The anniversary, themed “ — Psalms 136:1 KJV — aims to reflect on the state's growth and development since its establishment.

Prince Enobong Uwah, Secretary to the State Government and Chairman of the Central Planning Committee, stated that the program, approved by Governor Umo Eno, showcases the ARISE administration's commitment to impactful governance. Activities will kick off with a reception and cannon-water ceremony for a new Airbus A220-300 at Victor Attah International Airport, Uyo, followed by a covenant service.

A significant highlight will be President Tinubu's official visit to inaugurate landmark projects, including the International Airport Hospital, International Terminal Building, and various infrastructure developments in Nsit Atai and Okobo Local Government Areas. Uwah emphasized that the anniversary will showcase the state's development journey and the ongoing government interventions under the ARISE Agenda 1.0.
