Alex Iwobi Honored on 2025 Football Black List

Alex Iwobi, a 29-year-old midfielder for Fulham and a member of the Super Eagles, has been included in the 2025 Football Black List, which recognizes outstanding Black players, coaches, executives, and media professionals who make a difference off the field. The list was released on a Tuesday and highlights Iwobi's significant community-focused initiatives, particularly through his establishment of Project 17 in 2008, which aims to empower young people and support underserved communities.

Iwobi's efforts include organizing football tournaments, mentorship programs, and outreach initiatives designed to inspire and equip the next generation. He is the first Nigerian to receive this honor, joining other notable players such as Eberechi Eze, Jess Carter, Naomi Bedeau, and Shakira Waith.

Iwobi has made nearly 400 Premier League appearances throughout his career, scoring 43 goals and providing 51 assists.
