Alex Iwobi Recognized in 2025 Football Black List

Alex Iwobi, a 29-year-old midfielder currently playing for Fulham, has been named in the 2025 Football Black List, which highlights outstanding contributions by Black footballers beyond the pitch. The announcement was made on Tuesday, recognizing Iwobi's significant impact through his philanthropic efforts, particularly with Project 17, which he founded in 2021.

This initiative focuses on empowering underserved Black youth through football clinics, educational workshops, mentorship programs, and the annual P17 Cup tournament. Iwobi's leadership and positive influence on young people in Nigeria have also earned him the recent Baobab Award for Sport.

The 2025 list includes other prominent figures such as Eberechi Eze from Arsenal and Jess Carter from the England Lionesses. The Football Black List, established in 2008, serves as a platform to highlight Black talent and activism in football.
