CAD Defends Otti's Fiscal Transparency in Abia State

The Citizen Alliance for Democracy (CAD) issued a statement on Tuesday rejecting recent claims that questioned the fiscal transparency of Abia State under Governor Alex Otti. The group, led by National President Ibrahim B.

Farouk, conducted an assessment across Abia, particularly in the southeastern region, evaluating infrastructure and public services based on residents' experiences. They noted significant developments, including the ongoing rehabilitation of the road network between Aba and Umuahia, which had long been neglected.

Farouk emphasized that these improvements are crucial for boosting economic activity, especially in light of previous poor road conditions. The group also commended the state's progress in environmental sanitation, crediting the Abia State Environmental Protection Agency (ASEPA) for enhancing urban cleanliness.

CAD cautioned against relying solely on fiscal metrics for assessing government performance and urged a broader evaluation that includes infrastructure and service delivery. They concluded that the progress made under Otti provides a strong foundation for sustainable growth in the state.
