Algeria Reaffirms Support for Mali Against Terrorism

On April 27, 2026, Algerian Foreign Minister Ahm Attaf reiterated Algeria's unwavering support for Mali's territorial integrity and its institutions. In a press statement, Attaf categorically rejected all forms of terrorism, emphasizing that terrorism cannot be justified regardless of its motivations or causes.

He highlighted Algeria's own experiences with terrorism and called for strengthened national unity within Mali as a crucial deterrent against terrorist threats. Attaf's remarks followed a meeting with Bosnia and Herzegovina's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Elmedin Konaković, during his official visit to Algeria.

He stressed that unity serves as the best defense against terrorism and is essential for effectively combating this scourge.
