Alia and Aondoakaa Clash Over Benue Insecurity Issues

Governor Hyacinth Alia of Benue State responded to statements from Michael Aondoakaa, the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), regarding the escalating insecurity in the state. Alia accused Aondoakaa and the PDP of politicizing the issue, labeling their behavior as "irresponsible." In a statement released by his Chief Press Secretary, Kula Tersoo, on Wednesday, Alia emphasized that the ongoing violence has resulted in significant grief and trauma for families affected, necessitating a compassionate and united response rather than "sarcastic profiteering." He asserted that the people of Benue deserve responsible leadership and constructive oversight during such challenging times.

Alia also mentioned that security chiefs have confirmed that his administration is actively supporting security agencies through logistical assistance, intelligence collaboration, and coordination with local vigilantes to enhance community protection and restore peace.
