Aondoakaa Condemns Killings in Benue, Calls for Security

Michael Aondoakaa, SAN, the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in Benue State, condemned the attack on Abaashwa community in Mbaasar, Nzorov Council Ward, Guma Local Government Area, where suspected armed herdsmen killed four individuals. In a statement released by his media aide, James Ian, Aondoakaa described the attack as “barbaric, heartbreaking and yet another painful reminder of the worsening security situation in Benue State.” He expressed condolences to the families of the victims and emphasized the need for effective security measures to prevent such attacks.

Aondoakaa highlighted that recurring violence has instilled fear among farmers, threatening the agricultural economy of the state. He urged the state government to prioritize the protection of lives and property, asserting that all resources should be directed towards this responsibility.

Additionally, he raised concerns about delays in medical attention for injured victims due to an ongoing doctors' strike, calling for emergency arrangements to ensure prompt medical care.
