Aondoakaa Promises Security and Development for Benue

Mike Kaase Aondoakaa, SAN, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in Benue State, announced his commitment to prioritizing security, rural development, and local government autonomy if elected in 2027. During a press interaction in Makurdi, Aondoakaa stated that consultations revealed insecurity and deteriorating rural infrastructure as significant challenges for the populace.

He noted that poor roads and collapsed bridges hinder security responses and agricultural productivity. Aondoakaa proposed allowing local governments to manage their funds directly, with state oversight, to enhance transparency and reduce financial leakages.

He criticized the focus of government projects in urban areas, advocating for rural development to meet the needs of the majority. On ranching, he stated that livestock businesses would be permitted under compliance with relevant laws.

Additionally, Aondoakaa plans to introduce a N2 billion interest-free student loan scheme for youth affected by insecurity, promoting job creation and economic strength through local industries and agriculture.
