Benue State Governor Condemns Attack in Abande, Pledges Road Construction for Enhanced Security

Rev Fr Hyacinth Alia, the Governor of Benue State, strongly condemned an unprovoked attack in Abande, Turan Kwand Local Government Area, promising to construct a road to improve security and ease movement in the region. The attack, carried out by suspected armed herdsmen, resulted in the death of at least 17 people and the destruction of property worth millions.

Governor Alia assured the affected people of his commitment to restoring peace and providing necessary logistics and security personnel to tackle the situation. Additionally, he pledged to enhance surveillance, provide water supply, and boost communication networks in the area.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu was properly briefed on the developments during his visit to reinforce the affected community. Governor Alia also engaged with local traditional rulers to address the concerns of the affected population directly.
