APC's Otache Warns of Political Crisis in Benue State

Napoleon Otache, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), dismissed reports suggesting peace in Benue State, asserting that the political atmosphere is "hotter than Iraq." In an interview, he emphasized that no meaningful reconciliation has occurred within the party, particularly among factions loyal to Governor Alia and the party's secretariat. Otache warned that tensions are likely to intensify as the 2027 general elections approach.

He attributed the ongoing crisis to a failure in leadership and political management, criticizing Governor Alia for his handling of party affairs and lack of prior political experience. Otache claimed that Alia's leadership style has exacerbated divisions within the party and weakened internal cohesion.

He accused the governor of disregarding established party structures and ignoring court rulings related to the APC's internal organization. Otache concluded that unless urgent reconciliation efforts are made, the APC in Benue risks deeper internal fragmentation and potential electoral setbacks in the upcoming elections.
