Alia Advocates for Unity Amid APC Division Rumors in Benue

Governor Hyacinth Alia of Benue State has urged for peace and unity among political stakeholders as rumors of division within the All Progressives Congress (APC) circulate. Alia emphasized that synergy is essential for achieving the envisioned renaissance of the state.

He called on political leaders, community actors, and citizens to embrace a harmonious path for sustainable development. Alia's administration aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's agenda, focusing on visible development projects.

However, recent reports suggest internal divisions within the APC, particularly with Georg Akum, the party's secretary, allegedly mobilizing against Alia ahead of the 2027 elections. This situation raises concerns about party cohesion, especially as preparations for future elections begin.

Despite these challenges, Alia's administration reportedly enjoys widespread grassroots support, with ongoing development projects reinforcing confidence in his leadership. Tersoo Kula, Alia's spokesman, dismissed claims of political alliances undermining the administration, reaffirming the governor's commitment to party unity and stakeholder engagement.
