Sokoto Governor Aliyu Donates Vehicle to NUJ Council

On Thursday, during a special iftar held at the Government House in Sokoto, Governor Ahmad Aliyu announced the donation of an official vehicle to the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Sokoto State Council. This gesture underscores his administration's commitment to enhancing collaboration with media practitioners.

NUJ Chairman Usman Binji praised the governor's performance across various sectors, highlighting the administration's focus on people-oriented projects in education, healthcare, security, and rural development. Binji also noted ongoing construction projects and the importance of regular salary payments for economic stability.

He appealed for further support for journalists, including the provision of official vehicles and the rehabilitation of the NUJ press center. Governor Aliyu emphasized the critical role of media in sustaining democracy and promoting transparency, assuring that due process would be followed in the vehicle donation.

He reaffirmed his administration's commitment to press freedom and engaging with digital media to ensure accurate information dissemination.
