Sokoto Governor Aliyu Donates Vehicle to NUJ Council

On Thursday, during a breakfast meeting at the Government House in Sokoto, Governor Dr. Ahm Aliyu donated an official vehicle to the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Sokoto State Council.

The event aimed to strengthen collaboration between the government and media practitioners, addressing challenges faced by journalists. NUJ Chairman Comrade Usman Moham Binji praised the governor for his transformative efforts in Sokoto State, particularly in education, healthcare, security, rural development, and youth and women empowerment.

He highlighted ongoing projects, including the construction of three major markets in Bodinga Local Government Area, which are expected to drive economic growth. The governor acknowledged the vital role of traditional and social media in promoting transparency and good governance, assuring journalists of their press freedom.

He committed to continued collaboration with the media, especially in areas of security and social engagement, while urging the NUJ to submit a detailed report for a media tour project in 2025.
