Nigerian Army and Journalists Strengthen Cooperation in Sokoto

On Thursday, Major General Bemgha Koughna, the General Officer Commanding the 8 Division of the Nigerian Army, emphasized the importance of collaboration with journalists in Sokoto State to enhance security and promote public trust. During a courtesy visit from the executive members of the Correspondents' Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Sokoto State Council, Major General Koughna highlighted the critical role of the media in shaping public understanding of security operations.

He stressed the need for accurate information dissemination to counter misinformation and sustain peace. Koughna assured the journalists of the division's readiness to maintain open lines of communication and foster a professional working relationship.

Earlier, the chairman of the Correspondents' Chapel, Ank Emmanuel, congratulated Koughna on his appointment and expressed the chapel's readiness to work closely with the division to achieve a safer society. Emmanuel also called for prompt dissemination of information to enable balanced and factual reporting of military activities.
