Miyetti Allah President Bodejo Granted N2bn Bail

Justice Inyang Ekwo has admitted Bodejo, the president of Miyetti Allah, to bail set at N2 billion in connection with an alleged $2.63 million money laundering case. The court ordered that Bodejo present two sureties, one of whom must have a property worth N2 billion in Abuja, and he is required to submit his international passport to the court, restricting him from traveling outside the country without permission.

The judge exercised discretion in granting bail, acknowledging that the charges against Bodejo are bailable under the Administration of Criminal Justice Act. Bodejo was previously remanded in the custody of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) following his arraignment on July 9.

He pleaded not guilty to the charges filed on June 25. The trial has been adjourned to commence on October 5, 6, and 7.
