AMAC Disowns DOAS Over Mobile Advert Enforcement in Abuja

The Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) has disowned the Department of Outdoor Advertisement and Signage (DOAS) over mobile advert enforcement in Abuja. AMAC claims exclusive authority to collect mobile advertising permits within its jurisdiction, warning the public to disregard unauthorized enforcement attempts by DOAS personnel.

The council also announced plans for mandatory training programs to enhance professionalism in the field and streamline the permit issuance process starting in January 2026. Business owners are advised to secure permits early to avoid penalties.

AMAC aims to improve transparency and reduce manual enforcement friction.
