Amaechi Secures ADC Presidential Nomination Form for 2027

Rotimi Amaechi, the former Minister of Transport, has officially acquired the presidential nomination form for the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in preparation for the 2027 general elections. The form was collected on his behalf by prominent political stakeholders, including Chief John Odigie Oyegun, at the ADC national secretariat in Abuja.

Atiku Mohammed, the ADC Deputy National Organizing Secretary, represented Amaechi during the collection. Amaechi becomes the second aspirant to express interest in the ADC presidential nomination, following Moham Hayatu-Deen, who previously obtained the form.

The ADC is currently facing leadership crises, with multiple court cases leading to the exit of notable members, including former Anambra State Governor Peter Obi and former Kano State Governor Rabiu Kwankwaso, who have left for the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC). Despite these challenges, ADC National Public Secretary has described the departures of Obi and Kwankwaso as premeditated moves that do not stem from the party's internal crises.

ADC National Chairman Senator David Mark assured party members of participation in the upcoming elections.
