Nigerian Discos Exceed Revenue Expectations, Set to Surpass N2.3 Trillion Mark

Nigerian Discos have shown a significant financial improvement in the first three quarters of 2025, surpassing their total revenue for the entire 2024 fiscal year. Despite revenue not meeting service improvement expectations, collections surged ahead of schedule, with an average monthly revenue of approximately N200 billion.

The Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) reported that Discos generated N1.713 trillion by September 2025, reflecting a 35.2% increase compared to 2024. The revenue trajectory continued to rise each month, indicating a positive trend in the electricity distribution sector.
