Nigerian DisCos Collect ₦565 Billion in Bills, Eko, Ikeja, Abuja Lead Efficiency

Nigerian electricity distribution companies collected a total of ₦565 billion in bills, with Eko, Ikeja, and Abuja DisCos showing high efficiency in revenue collection, according to the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC). Eko DisCo collected ₦106 billion, Ikeja DisCo collected ₦105 billion, and Abuja DisCo recorded significant improvements.

However, some areas like Yola performed poorly in bill collection efficiency. The report highlighted the importance of metering in improving customer repayment behavior and transparency in billing systems.

Despite some progress in meter installations, there is still a significant meter deficit in Nigeria.
