Amotekun Arrests 164 Suspects in Ondo State Crackdown

The Ondo State security agency, Amotekun, has paraded 164 suspects following a week-long crackdown on criminal activities across the state. The operation, disclosed by the command's head, Adetunji Adeley, resulted in arrests for various offenses, including three kidnapping cases, 144 breaches of law and order related to rape, 15 incidents of human trafficking, and violations of the state's anti-open grazing law.

Notable arrests included Henri, 30, and Obasooto Eyin, linked to armed robbery and kidnapping, and Azeez, 30, accused of arson. The operation also targeted individuals involved in conspiracy, assault on security personnel, and theft.

Adeley emphasized the importance of public cooperation in providing timely intelligence to enhance security efforts. Additionally, 144 individuals were intercepted while transporting a trailer with concealed goods, raising concerns about potential security threats.

The operation reflects a collaborative effort involving multiple security agencies to reduce crime rates in Ondo State.
