INEC Chairman Advocates for Credible Elections in Nigeria

On Monday in Abuja, Prof. Joash Amupitan, the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), reiterated that ensuring credible elections is a top priority for deepening Nigeria's democratic process.

During a courtesy visit to the Alumni Association of the Institute for Security Studies (AANI), he underscored the vital connection between effective security management and the electoral process. Amupitan noted that credible elections are essential for national stability, peace, and security, particularly in the current critical period.

He stressed the importance of security agencies and policymakers working in harmony to uphold transparency and fairness during every electoral cycle. Furthermore, Amupitan commended AANI for its unwavering commitment to building the capacity of Nigeria's security professionals, which is crucial for strengthening the nation's resilience against threats that may undermine democratic development.
