Tobi Amusan Wins Bronze in Commonwealth 100m Hurdles

Tobi Amusan, the world record holder, finished third in the women’s 100m hurdles final at the Commonwealth Games held in Glasgow, clocking a time of 12.60 seconds. She entered the competition as the favorite, having the fastest season's best of 12.28 seconds and winning her heat in 12.19 seconds.

However, she was unable to secure her third consecutive title as Devynne Charlton from the Bahamas won gold with a time of 12.33 seconds, and Jamaica's Megan Simmonds took silver in 12.41 seconds. Amusan previously won her first Commonwealth Games title in 2018 in Gold Coast, Australia, and defended it in Birmingham in 2022.

The bronze medal marks the end of her bid for a third consecutive title, although she remains a leading figure in sprint hurdles. Following the Commonwealth Games, Amusan will return to the Diamond League circuit, where she has already qualified for the final scheduled for September 4 and 5 in Brussels, Belgium.
