Amusan Wins Silver at World Athletics Championship

Tobi Amusan, Nigeria’s former world record holder, secured a silver medal in the women’s 100m hurdles at the inaugural World Athletics Ultimate Championship held in Budapest, Hungary, on Friday. Amusan finished with a time of 12.34 seconds, just behind American Olympic champion Masai Russell, who won gold in 12.22 seconds.

Dutch hurdler Nadine Visser completed the podium with a bronze medal, finishing in 12.39 seconds. Despite losing her world record earlier in the season, Amusan demonstrated her elite status in the event.

Russell entered the final as the favorite after breaking Amusan’s world record with a time of 12.09 seconds in Zurich in August. Although Amusan could not reclaim the world record or defeat Russell, her performance in Budapest reaffirmed her position among the top sprint hurdlers globally.
