IMPACT Project Enhances Healthcare in Kano State

The IMPACT Project in Kano is designed to tackle Nigeria's urgent public health challenges, particularly the high burden of preventable illness and death among children under five. The project focuses on improving the quality and utilization of immunization and malaria services, aligning with national health objectives.

It targets women and children, extending benefits to the wider population. Key strategies include decentralized financing for primary healthcare facilities, enhancing service delivery, and addressing stockouts of essential drugs.

The project has established 484 health facilities and expanded outreach sessions across 38 rural local government areas (LGAs), ensuring access to life-saving vaccinations. Additionally, the project has improved cold chain operations by procuring large refrigerators and solar power accessories for uninterrupted vaccine preservation.

Regular oversight and supervision are implemented across 44 LGAs, fostering a culture of accountability and performance. The IMPACT Project represents a significant investment in healthcare infrastructure and aims to create reliable health services in Kano State.
