Anambra State Approves ₦640M for Infrastructure Projects

The Anambra State Executive Council, during its third meeting held on June 22 at the Government House in Awka, approved contracts worth ₦640 million for infrastructure projects aimed at addressing erosion, improving education, and enhancing healthcare delivery. The council emphasized its commitment to sustainable development and introduced several reforms, including the continuation of market regeneration and enforcement of environmental laws.

Key initiatives include free education, free antenatal care, and the introduction of a school adoption program, which encourages public-private partnerships. The council also approved ₦237 million for the remodeling of Afouzo Market in Isuofia, Aguata Local Government Area, awarded to Crystal Dove Construction Company Ltd.

Additionally, ₦402.83 million was allocated for the supply of routine antenatal medicines related to the state’s free antenatal delivery service program, awarded to Jessi Pharmaceutical Company Ltd and Global Company Ltd. Governor Chukwuma Soludo reiterated the administration's commitment to building a livable and prosperous Anambra through infrastructure development and environmental protection.
