Anambra Launches Free Hypertension Screening Program

Anambra State has commenced a free hypertension screening service across government-owned health facilities as part of efforts to promote preventive healthcare and ensure early detection of non-communicable diseases. Nony Soludo, the founder and Chief Executive Officer of Healthi Live and wife of the state governor, announced the program on Friday, urging residents to take advantage of the free screening services.

This initiative reflects the administration's commitment to improving access to quality healthcare and reducing the burden of preventable diseases through early diagnosis and treatment. Nony Soludo described hypertension as a prevalent and deadly health condition affecting Nigerians.

She encouraged adults across the state to undergo routine blood pressure checks as a proactive step to protect their health. The state has previously commissioned health programs to be implemented across primary healthcare centers, comprehensive health centers, and general hospitals, with the medical office and primary healthcare coordinators ensuring full compliance with the initiative.
