Anambra State Launches National HIV Surveillance Survey

Anambra State is set to conduct a National HIV Surveillance Survey, with recruitment for personnel completed as part of a nationwide integrated biological and behavioral survey. This survey, designed to gather general biological and behavioral data, aims to support evidence-based policymaking and enhance HIV prevention and treatment programs across Nigeria.

Dr. Nkem Okeke, the Executive Director of ANSACA, described the recruitment process as transparent and commended partner organizations for their support.

Anambra State Governor Chukwuma Soludo acknowledged the state's investment in healthcare, which aims to enhance its capacity to attract significant public health initiatives. The survey is expected to provide critical data to guide Nigeria's HIV prevention, treatment, and care programs, supporting future public health interventions nationwide.

The recruitment exercise was noted as a major milestone in preparation for the survey, which is anticipated to be conducted in collaboration with national health agencies.
