Anambra CP Reiterates IGP's Zero Tolerance on Corruption

On a recent briefing at the command headquarters in Awka, Anambra State Commissioner of Police Ikioy Orutugu reiterated the directive from Inspector General of Police Olatunji Rilwan Disu, emphasizing a zero tolerance policy towards corruption and unprofessional conduct within the Nigeria Police Force. Orutugu stressed the importance of strict adherence to professional ethics, discipline, and respect for the rule of law in the discharge of duties.

He warned that any officer found guilty of misconduct, including extortion and abuse of office, would face appropriate disciplinary action in line with existing regulations. Furthermore, he highlighted the presidential order regarding the withdrawal of police personnel from unauthorized VIP protection duties, urging compliance to prevent misuse of police personnel for private engagements without official approval, which would also attract sanctions.
