A 10-year-old boy identified as Chiziterem has suffered severe burn injuries allegedly caused by his caregiver in Awada Obosi, situated within Idemili North Local Government Area. In response to this case, Dr.

Nony Soludo, spouse of Anambra State Governor Charles Soludo, has intervened directly. The First Lady mandated that specialized medical care be delivered to the child at a state health facility and declared that those implicated must face prosecution.

Public outcry followed when details and images of the incident spread across social media platforms, triggering state intervention. The state health commission, through Dr.

Afam Obidik, assessed the boy's condition and facilitated placement at an appropriate medical treatment center. When the First Lady visited the hospital, she committed the state to oversee the child's full rehabilitation with specialist interventions addressing physical and psychological healing.

Dr. Soludo has situated this matter within her larger vision for child protection and welfare.

During remarks commemorating African Child Day, she stressed the importance of joint efforts among parents, caregivers, community educators, leaders, and state bodies to guarantee children's rights are upheld. She advocated that resources continue flowing toward schooling, medical services, and adequate nutrition as essential pillars supporting Nigeria's development and long-term stability.

At the time of the First Lady's hospital visit, medical personnel reported that the child had reached clinical stability. While some accounts reference Enugu State and others reference Anambra State, all reports pinpoint Awada Obosi as the location.

The accused caregiver has been described as a woman and her spouse, though particulars regarding formal charges and legal action remain undisclosed in public records.
